Refurbished Dell PowerVault expansion shelves for MD and ME series storage arrays - including MD1200, MD1220, MD3060e, and ME4024/ME4084 expansion enclosures. 

Expansion shelves extend the raw capacity of Dell PowerVault and EqualLogic SAN environments without replacing the head unit. A PowerVault MD3420 controller configured with 24 drives can be expanded with one or two MD1220 expansion shelves to add up to 48 additional 2.5-inch drive bays - increasing usable capacity at a fraction of the cost of a new storage system.

Capacity expansion via refurbished expansion shelves is one of the highest return-on-investment uses of secondary market storage hardware. The shelf adds capacity that integrates directly into the existing storage management framework - Dell OpenManage and PERC storage management see the additional shelves as part of the existing storage pool.
